When I saw a diecast model of a Midget on eBay I thought it would look good on a shelf at home or in my office at work. I bid and purchased the model; a white Midget MarkIII roadster from Solido in 1/43rd scale. A week or so later another model appeared, again a Midget, but this time a different color and a hard top. I was not a model collector, but the little cars were cute, just like the big ones, and I liked the variety of styles and colors. Along the way I picked up several other makes and models; Triumph, Austin Healey, MGB, MG-TC, and others. I found that by purchasing in a consistent scale it was easy to compare relative sizes and design features of the the cars.
