Ray's MG Midget

The "Spridget Project" - Engine Build Log - Preparation

Up

Well Ray's engine build is well under way. The block is prepped and ready for the assembly room. It was Glyptal coated inside, and painted BMC olive on the exterior. It's has been bored .040" over to accept its new AE 21253 high compression pistons. The factory brass oil galley plugs were removed prior to caustic washing, and tapped for NPT pipe plugs.

Here are the goodies; still got to get a few more items, but most of the parts are here.

.040" over AE21253 pistons
Std./Std. EN16T crankshaft
King Tri metal bearings
Payen gaskets
Ported and polished cylinder head, with hardened exhaust seats.
Harland Sharp 1.3 roller rocker arms w/solid spacers

APT slot drive oil pump

Romac Sport harmonic balancer
APT oversized aluminum water pump pulley

Everything will blueprinted and balanced.

I'll still be doing prep for at least another week, then I should be able to start the build of the bottom end, after the bottom end is built, I will start porting and prepping the head.
